Steve Maddox is the General Manager and Marketing person for Rice’s Nursery as well as Bryan's right hand guy. He has over 15 years experience in the green industry doing anything and everything he can do to learn more about the business. The bulk of his time is spent with working with customers and employees, helping them be successful in the garden and in life. Steve is very passionate about what he does and ultimately knows that each and every day is a new challenge. You can also find him doing talks for local garden clubs, schools, at ONLA’s C.E.N.T.S. Show and at the O.F.A. Short Course.
Little Known Facts About You
• My wife Andrea and I love to travel. We try to experience as many places as we can while we are still “young”!
• I’m originally from upstate NY. I’d rather be in 3 feet of snow then 90 degree heat.
• I’m a gadget guy… The newer the “app” the better.
Education and Job Experience
Steve has been part of the Rice’s “family” for over 12 years and serves as Bryan's right hand guy. He earned his degree in Landscape Architecture from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, NY. He is a Ohio Certified Nursery Technician (OCNT) through Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association and has completed the “Spotlight” Leadership training program through the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Giving a Little Back
He has served on the Retail and Education Committee for ONLA. He’s also very active in the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and served as the chair for the chambers “Twenty under 40!” event through yStark. Steve also serves on the Stark County Ducks Unlimited committee.
