Jeanine Hess

This will be Jeanine's third year working at Rice's. She helps out where ever she is needed most. She assists customers choose perennials, shrubs and trees, sometimes with the aid of our snapshot gardening computer program. Jeanine works with container gardening, giving seminars on gardening for birds and wildlife and with the trees at Rice's tree farm. She has been gardening since childhood and has been a serious gardener indoors and out for more than 20 years, nurturing plants as if they were people. Her goal is to spread her gardening passion to every customer she meets, she has already inspired her family and friends to blossom into avid gardeners themselves. No matter where you are in your gardening experience, Jeanine can help you find the joy in watching something grow!

Little Known Facts

• I Love the Outdoors, growing up in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania made me a complete Nature Nut! Camping, birding, fishing, skiing, whitewater rafting...
• My pets are my four legged children, three Dachshunds, three Cats, (5 of the 6 are Rescued) and tropical fish. Which co-exist among my MANY houseplants; some I have had for 30 years.
• Music Lover as long I can remember. Classic Rock, Blues, and Jazz are my favorites. I Love to go to a Show!

Education and Job Experiences
Jeanine graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Visual Communication and worked in advertising for 10 years. Then, for Massillon Animal Hospital for 7 years, before coming to Rice's.

Giving a Little Back
She has been the President of the Stark County Bluebird Society for the last 6 years.
